The member representing Ndokwa west in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Azuka Azaka has called for peace among the people of his constituency.
He made the call yesterday, at a meeting convened by the chairman of Ndokwa west LGA, Hon. Ifeanyi Chris Osakwe.
In his speech, Hon. Azaka, who is the chairman House committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in the state House of Assembly, called for a peaceful coexistence, among the people of Obodougwa Community "Ogwume".
Hon. Azaka said, " the relative peace currently being enjoyed in the area should not be jeopardize over leadership crisis".
The Honorable member pleaded with the people to adopt the governor's peace and development initiatives which is centered on the well being and peaceful coexistence of the people.
Hon. Azaka added that, as the representative of the people, he would not sit back and watch his constituents take laws into their hands.
He informed the people that, the very essence of the meeting was to mediate and find a lasting solution to communal differences in order to avert impending crisis in the area, stressing that Ndokwa people are well known for its peaceful disposition.
"It's only in a peaceful environment that the people can witness development, as we can see our governor is doing everything possible to ensure development goes round the state within his stay in office, but If we don't embrace peace and see ourselves as one, how then, do we expect to enjoy the dividend of democracy.
"Let us not chase away the great development that is suppose to come to us over leadership tussle, I appeal to every aggrieved person to please embrace peace as it's the only panacea to development". He said.
Hon Azuka Azaka also used the medium to appeal to all his constituents irrespective of party affiliations to continue to give the state governor, Sen. Dr Ifeanyi Okowa the needed support to enable him deliver more dividends of democracy to their door steps.
