Deltans, especially those in the Oshimilli North Local Government Area, have been asked to be patient as the state government remained committed in meeting up its electioneering promises to them.
The State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Patrick Ukah, made this known during a visit of members of the Oshimilli North People's Democratic Party (PDP) peace reconciliation committee in his office on Thursday.
Mr. Ukah said the State Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, is resolute in satisfying the positive expectations of the electorate and members of his party who put him on seat as governor despite the current economic downturn affecting the state, country and the globe.
He sued for patience amongst aggrieved party members saying though the governor was concerned about every single member of the PDP, appointments were held back and overly scrutinize to avoid extra financial burden on the state.
The Information Commissioner said pipeline vandalization had affected the income of the state government which had been empowering youths in the state through the YAGEP and STEP programmes in order to see to the diversification of the state's economy.
While suing for diligent service among party members in order for them to grow, Mr Ukah urged the group to preach love, saying no society could progress in an atmostphere of hate.
The Chairman of the committee, Sir Felix Ndukwe, said the aim of the visit was to brief the Information Commissioner on plans by the group to bring peace among party members in the area.
He stated that Mr. Ukah, who is from Oshimili North, is capable of giving the moral and financial support the group needs in reaching out to aggrieved members of the party.
Sir Ndukwe assured the Information Commissioner that the group will settle outstanding issues affecting the togetherness of PDP member in the area.
