THE people of Warri South West Local Government Area, Delta State have been lauded for their steadfastness and support for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) administration in the last 17 years.
The State Deputy Governor, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro, gave the commendation at Ogbe-Ijoh when the state executive of PDP led by the state Chairman, Barr. Kingsley Esiso visited the local government as part of his official tour to the 25 local government areas of the state.
Barr. Otuaro who is also from the local government, urged the people and members of the party to remain supportive of the party, adding that the party has good welfare packages for all Deltans.
He said the massive turn out of the people to the event is a clear indication that the PDP was not only a stronghold, but also the only political party in the area.
In his address, Barr. Kingsley Esiso, said the party’s main tour was an opportunity to thank Deltans for their massive vote for the party and their support to the Governor Okowa administration.
Barr. Esiso noted that the exit of PDP at the federal level gave birth to the present economic recession and called on Nigerians to vote the party back to power come 2019 as it has solution to the economic, infrastructural and security challenges bedevilling the country. “The change they sold to Nigerians is a deceit; Nigerians should be prepared to vote them out come 2019,” Barr. Esiso stated.
While pledging the readiness of the party to attend to the basic needs of Deltans, he called on the elders to work in unity and support each other in order to build a new Delta.
Also, the Delta South Chairman of the party, Prince Emma Agbamduba, said Warri South West has always been a home for the party and enjoined them not to allow anything deter them from believing in the party.
In their remarks, Hon. Mofe Pirah and Chief Frank Omare said no party can stand the PDP in Warri South West at elections and assured the leadership of the party that hundred per cent vote will also be delivered in subsequent elections.
The Warri South West Chairman of PDP, Mr. Johnbull Edema, noted that the visit has rekindled the support for the party. He uses the occasion to call on elected leaders of the party to look into the appointment of youths and women as a deliberate effort to remove poverty from the state.
