UKAH LAUDS DELTANS OVER BEFITTING FAREWELL FOR IBRU

DELTA State Commissioner for Information, Mr Patrick Ukah, has described the turn out of eminent personalities for the burial ceremony of the first civilian Governor of Delta State, Olorogun Senator Felix Ovuodoroye Ibru, as deserving of someone who laid the foundation of a united Delta State.

Speaking after the burial of the former Governor on Wednesday (03/08/16), Mr Ukah stated said that despite the number of years Olorogun Ibru left the position of Governor of the state, his actions while in government were still been felt as if they happened yesterday.

He thanked Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for the roles he played to ensure a successful burial ceremony deserving of a hero and also thanked all those who came out to bid Olorogun Ibru a befitting farewell.

Mr Ukah observed that from the tribute session held at the Government House, Asaba, to the final interment at his home town, Agbarha-Otor, it was evident that the state has lost a hero.

The Commissioner for Information emphasized that the former governor distinguished himself as a statesman, politician, and a man who loved his people from the different roles he played in life.

According to him, he was a professional architect, and as a governor, he ensured that ethnicity became a non-issue because of the all-embracing government that he ran.

Mr. Ukah  noted that as a Senator, the activities of late Olorogun Ibru at the national assembly will continue to be beneficial to the country for a very long time, and as a man who loved his people, he ascended the topmost position of President-General of the Urhobo Progress Union (UPU),  reiterating that what else can one expect from a man who was also a complete family man.

He prayed that God will accept his soul and give his family and those who he has come in contact with the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss since he lived a good life worthy of emulation.
