The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, Delta state council has been told to encourage professionalism among practicing female journalists in the state. .
The commissioner for information Mr Patrick Ukah gave the charge while receiving the state executive of NAWOJ in his office
While congratulating the female journalists group, Mr Ukah said a lot was expected of them as opinion moulders, particularly in ensuring balanced reportage of the activities of the state Government
He reminded them that Delta state would be celebrating her 25years of creation in August, and urged them to propagate a new Delta with focus and renewed determination to positively impact on the lives of deltans.
The information commissioner used the occasion to appeal to private institutions to support the Delta at 25 program, adding that there would be an investment and economic forum to tell the world how they could do business with Delta state ..
The chairman of the Delta state NAWOJ, Comrade Patricia Gbemudu said the visit was to familiarise the commissioner with members of the executive, the activities of NAWOJ in the state and other pertinent details.
She said the visit was an extension of the partnership between NAWOJ and the ministry of information, in recognition of its role and contributions in actualising the prosperity for all agenda of the state Government
Highlight of the visit was the presentation of souvenirs to the state nawoj chairman by the information commissioner
